Our mission is to engage residents to improve the local environment, including waterways that feed into the Arkansas River, through litter prevention, beautification, recycling and education.
What We Do
Cleanups
We organize the Great North Little Rock Cleanup in May and the Great Arkansas River Cleanup in the fall. We also have smaller cleanups during the year.
Tree Seedlings
Every spring, we pot between 300 and 600 native tree seedlings. Got a park, community center or backyard you want to beautify? Contact us! For 2017, we have cherrybark oak, cow oak, northern red oak, nuttall oak, overcup oak, sawtooth oak, shumard oak and sugarberry/hackberry.
Great Arkansas River Cleanup
8:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024
Join us for some good, clean fun!
Please join Keep North Little Rock Beautiful for the 10th Annual Great Arkansas River Cleanup.
We’ll meet in North Little Rock at two locations:
- Burns Park boat ramp
- Riverview Park
This is a great opportunity to give back to your community, improve the local environment and help keep our river clean.
Celebration after the cleanup is at Murray Park in Little Rock.
Does it cost anything to register a team?
No, registration is free!
Who can sign up?
We welcome groups and individuals, boaters, bass fishers, cyclists, hikers and all others who enjoy the river and its shores.
What do we need to bring to the cleanup?
Gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers, rakes, and safety vests are suggested. Keep North Little Rock Beautiful can provide many of these items for use on cleanup day. We will contact team leaders with information on getting supplies.
What if it rains on the day of the cleanup?
If the Great Arkansas River Cleanup celebration is cancelled due to weather, we will notify team captains.
I don’t have a team. Can I still volunteer?
Yes! If you would like to help clean, you can still register. We’ll assign you a spot that day.
If you would like more information, contact us at Green@knlrb.org.
